Wangeci is a highly experienced women advocate, feminist human rights defender and gender equality specialist with over 30 years of expertise in leading movements for women and children’s rights across Africa.

She holds a Master of Arts in Rural Sociology and Community Development from the University of Nairobi and has a strong background in strategic leadership, program management, and partnership development.

Wangeci has served in key roles such as Executive Director at Independent Medico Legal Unit (IMLU) and Head of Programmes at Echo Network Africa, where she has led impactful initiatives to transform women’s lives.

Her work includes advocacy, capacity strengthening, resource mobilization, and program development, making her a significant contributor to the field of women’s rights and empowerment.
