
Agnes Gakenia
Agnes Gakenia Mathenge is a dedicated professional with extensive expertise in Private Sector Development, Trade Policy, Livelihoods, Cross-Border Trade in Africa, Risk, Vulnerability, and Resilience, and Development Geographies. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at West Virginia University.
She has over 8 years’ experience working in international development in Africa, UK, and USA. Previously she was Program Manager at TradeMark East Africa, a renowned organization committed to “Growing Prosperity Through Trade.”
She has managed and implemented programs that drive impact and create positive change across a variety of sectors including ICT, Trade, Education, Climate Change, Water and Sanitation. She holds a master’s in development studies, and a Bachelor’s in Mathematical Business Economics and is a certified trade policy expert with the National Trade Board in Sweden.
Outside school and work, she enjoys travelling and has been to 12 countries.a Master of Science (MSc) in Development Studies from SOAS University of London, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematical Business Economics from Hofstra University.
